Created in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia by Dr. John S. Pemberton, Coca-Cola was first sold at a soda fountain in Jacobs' Pharmacy for 5 cents a glass. During the first year, sales of Coca-Cola averaged nine drinks a day.

‘Great Coke Taste, Zero Sugar’
Coca-Cola Zero (or Coke Zero as it is also known) was launched in Northern Ireland in June 2006 and in the Republic of Ireland in January 2007 in response to the male consumer need for the great taste of Coke without the sugar. Coke Zero is similar to diet Coke in terms of ingredients but the flavouring system is closer to that of brand Coke.

Fanta was developed in Germany during World War II, when no Coca-Cola concentrate was available there. The trademark, based on the word 'fantasy' was the result of a bottling plant employee contest. The word 'fantasy' was chosen as it contained sounds common to most languages.
